I was given relaxing and gorgeous room just how expected it to be with a wonderful view. The location was great and unbelievable, about 10-minute walk into town.
Well, there was no restaurant.

If you want somewhere rural to stay in a wine region and have your own transport then the location of Chateau d'Arche is good. Surrounding area is good for pleasant walks and the rolling countryside planted with neat rows of vines is easy on the eye. The village of Sauternes is close, although it is small with limited facilities (which, admittedly, could also be seen as a bonus).
The hotel's only catering is a good continental breakfast. We knew this beforehand so it wasn't an issue for us, however we may have stayed longer had dinner/hot meals been on offer. I think the hotel should consider this as an option as they may be missing out on business. The local village only has two restaurants and their opening days/hours are limited. There are some more dining options within a 15-20 minute drive but sometimes its just nice to have dinner/drinks on the premises and then go upstairs to bed - especially since the Chateau's own Sauterne wine is very good.

Fantastic location and surroundings. The wine is excellent and the tour of the winery provided to guests was very good. Self-service wine is the lobby was unique.
Tracking someone down to check in / check out can be difficult. Employees could be friendlier.

We had a very nice welcome from the owner. The room was very good and big, very confortable chairs and bed. The breakfast is one of the best I have tasted with lots of choice and local products. But the best for me was the bathroom with a very big bath and while you seat inside you can see the viniard. It was magic!

Staff friendly and helpful. Wine tasting was an option and tour of Chateau was good. Village of Sauturne being within walking distance was also good.
Breakfast was the same every day and a little expensive for what it was. Some variation would have been good.

The location and the beautiful bedroom
The shower is very inconvenient and difficult to use

A truly wonderful setting. The hotel is literally among the vines. A wonderful wine tasting proved why this chateau has very respected wines.
Be careful if you stay on Sunday or Monday. Don't put off finding a restaurant as many in the area close. You simply have to do some planning ahead. The hotel has a list of possibilities for you.
